I have been asked to deliver a revision course to the 2nd years on the whole of respiratory medicine. I have an hour, maybe an hour and a half, following my team roles session at 12:30 on Wednesday. The team roles session should be over by 1:30, and we can decant to a lecture theatre then, and do some learning.
Post your questions in reply to this post, so I can prepare the session – you ask, I answer. Hopefully.
So, tirez.
EDIT: The lecture will now be in LT2, starting at 1pm, as the interest in the team roles session has been, erm, 1 person, so I’ve cancelled it.

examples of chest xrays and how to interpret them, how do we tell what the different pathologies look like (pneumonia, effusion, empysema etc..)
Where is the lecture taking place?
I’m not sure where it’s taking place as yet – I have no confirmations of anyone coming, so I don’t know whether to book a seminar room, a lecture theatre, or stand in the blue carpet area and just start talking….
El – CXRs are very unlikely to come up in the exam, but it might come up in the OSCE (I’ve not seen the stations). I can go over some CXRs, no worries.
I think it would be beneficial to go over breath sounds i.e. what you would hear and with what pathology.
Also interstitial lung disease what it is etc.
Investigations for different pathologies.
LM – can you be a wee bit more specific? “Interstitial lung disease, what is it?” is a pretty big topic! Likewise “Investigations for different pathologies”. What do you want to know?
what about the usage of oxygen and the percentage required for various situations?
@ el – Oxygen I can do.
I would like to come along, but I have peer tutoring at 1 tomorrow. Is there any chance you could do another session?
Sorry, I am away for the rest of the week. You could bring your peer along, they might learn something.
Thanks for the lecture today DC, it was very helpful and has made things much clearer!
is it possible for today’s revision lecture to go online? thanks
