The NHS Tayside respiratory department has an active research interest. We pursue clinical research in a wide range of areas, including asthma, COPD, CF and non-CF bronchiectasis, pleural infection, chronic and acute pulmonary infection, and cardiopulmonary exercise testing.
The majority of our registrars will complete a period of dedicated research before finishing their training, most working towards and MD or pHD in the process.
Recent MD Theses include:
Dr Tom Fardon – Optimising Anti-Inflammatory Therapy in Persistent Asthma. Cambridge University, 2008
Recent research fellows:
Dr Phil Short – SCREDS research registrar and lecturer in respiratory medicine
Dr Andrew Goudie – MD project to assess RV function in patients with COPD
